Scent Marking / Smelling Her

A primal, highly popular trope (especially in romantasy and shifter romances) where the hero is obsessed with the heroine's natural scent, constantly burying his face in her neck or rubbing his scent onto her to claim her. It highlights his animalistic instincts, his deep need to be connected to her, and the comforting effect her scent has on him.
